Common Fauna: 50+ native species of birds, as well as migratory species. The greatest variety of fauna is in the marine environment, with a wide variety of fish and crustaceans.

  • There are five archipelagoes in French Polynesia, the Society Islands, the Marquesas, the Gambiers and the Australs are all mountainous volcanic islands, and the Tuamotus are low-lying coral atolls
