Terrain: mostly low-lying coral atolls surrounding central lagoons and surrounded by reefs
Climate: tropical; marine, hot and humid, moderated by trade winds, wet season from December to May
Common Flora: Coconut palm, pandanus, pawpaw and breadfruit
Common Fauna: Fish, and seabirds are the most common vertebrates
